WHAT YOU NEED TO DO FIRST
Sample Collection Procedure
- It is very important not to store the sample in a plastic bag.
- Allow the sample to dry naturally.
- If you will not be sending the sample for a few days, please freeze it.
- Household freezers are not recommended for long term storage (over 3 months).
- Always mail the sample in a paper envelope by overnight courier when possible.
- If the stain to be tested is not obvious or is contained within a small area, circle the specimen in question with a marker or tape to ensure we know what you want tested.
THIS IS WHAT WE DO NEXT
STEP 1 - DNA Detection
First you need to submit articles of clothing or other items thought to contain genetic material to us. These articles are then tested by the laboratory to determine whether genetic material is present. Should the submitted item test positive for the presence of genetic material, a DNA Differential Extraction Test can then be performed.
STEP 2 - DNA Differential Extraction
This part of the testing process separates the DNA cells present on the sample that was submitted by you. Once we have separate DNA we can then compare whether either of the separated DNA samples matches your own DNA.
STEP 3 - DNA Comparison
Now that we have two sets of DNA we can compare your DNA to both of the DNA samples. Using a buccal swab (large cotton swab), you will submit your DNA sample to us and it can then be compared to the DNA found on the sample. If a female suspects her male partner, she can submit a buccal swab of her DNA to us and we will compare her DNA to the female DNA found on the sample.

Infidelity Testing Costs Infidelity testing can be done using the "chain of custody" procedure if you need legally admissible results. If you do not need legally admissible test results then a non chain of custody process can be used, meaning you can submit all the samples on your own without a third party.
Testing fees vary so please call us to discuss your particular situation.
NOTE: We strongly recommend that you contact us for a confidential consultation regarding your specific situation.
